That's not a bad idea but still won't stop people just repping one person I guess.

Problem is that any system can be "gamed" and given the members of this forum, the system will be exploited, bastardised and generally used for the purpose of maintaining certain key posters egos.
Even the likes were just used to annoy people by filling up their notification areas

No, but before I started 'playing' rep, I'd so often find I couldn't rep someone who had been helpful because I hadn't spread it about enough. NickFitz springs to mind. I couldn't rep him even though I couldn't remember the last time I had (weeks before). So I repped some random people in order to re-rep him which rather dilutes the rep for those who do deserve it.
