What pees me off about the whole system is that half the time you are to rely on your judgement, and half the time you have to rely on absolutes.
If you rely on your judgement but get the absolute wrong , you get penalised.

it takes all the common sense out of the system...which aint right

      1. Fair enough, my cockup but in my weak defence the car passed later so it can be construed it was safe, though not legal I accept.

      2. Fair enough but marginally over both times at before 8:00am sat morn (overtime at work!). Not a car on the road. Apart from the mobile van which has an invisibility cloak.

Of course, in the old Savietskiy Sayuz, it's a rouble fine consistent with whatever you were daft enough to leave in your wallet and off you go so WTF so pls don't lecture MF, sorry AtW....

I have a very heavy right foot and usually drive too fast. I've been caught once or twice and currently have 3 points on my license for an SP30.

But the difference is, when I get caught, I don't come here whining that it's too hard to judge my speed with an inaccurate speedo.

AtW has been done for speeding too, but I forget what his lame excuse was now. I think he remains adamant that his case was special though

Sorry, forum rules, you can't reply twice to the same post, which do you want to keep?

You have posted your excuse post 2003

Is that last bit aimed at me? I'm not arguing, but you have to admit tho at 30 the limits are marginal - it is hard to watch the speedo and the road, especially on hills, or drive at 20 and cause havoc? Anyway I'm not moaning, I'll take the hit as I've said. No option.

U have to admit these fines are purely for revenue generation, 30/34/35 wtf, ok 30/55 yes, 70/120 yes, any form of wanton dangerous driving yes, but not 35 in a 30. Fine yes, but at this level that has to be it, points means soon that two strikes and you are out - ban. Two mistakes and no income potentially.

They should upgrade speed cameras to snap tailgaters too.
