I refuse to be labelled for or as something I don't believe in. Is there a label for that?

Well Microsoft don't do that either but they hire professional evangelists. 'knocking on doors' is a very narrow view of evangelism. If atheists don't evangelise and atheism is the absence of faith, why do we have secular societies and atheist societies? Why does Dawkins devote his life to correcting others' beliefs? Why does/did Hitchens write books about it?Originally posted by nomadd View PostStrange thing is, I've never seen a group of "suited and booted" Atheists wandering around on a Sunday morning banging on peoples front doors and forcing their opinions on them.

I am not too sure I believe this, if a chap strolled over to me, and with a sweep of his outstretched arm, stopped armed conflicts, drought, famine, etc, etc, I would be the firsty to admit I was wrong, apologise, admit my frailties as a human being and confess my sins. That should get me a seat up there, according to the god squad members I talk to.Originally posted by SimonMac View PostI don't thats my point that if proven wrong I will admit it which most atheist's struggle with
Or I turn up on fire in hell, which seems more fun anyway. I hate the harpComment

Indeed. It is weird to think that according to the bible, if hitler confessed his sins at the last moment he could be in heaven. Though the theology gets a bit more complex after that.Originally posted by Zoiderman View PostI would be the firsty to admit I was wrong, apologise, admit my frailties as a human being and confess my sins.
