I recall an incident late last year when 3 black girls racially, and quite severly attacked a white girl leaving her with real, physicaly injuries. They got let off with a suspended.... despite screaming murderous racial abuse at the innocent girl (along the lines of die you white B*tch, etc).

Are we agreeing that racism in the written word is more harmful than actual racial violence towards an individual?

If so, stop the roundabout I want to get off .......
I think the situation in which this happened, was maybe a reason for the knee jerk.

That's all it's been though: a knee jerk

People have Cardiac arrests every day, most don't make it, this lad has. Super, I'm happy for him!

My issue also is; when all this was all over the media, 6 soldiers returned home from Afganistan in coffins. Whether we agree with why they are there or not they are there on our behalf and their return went unnoticed in the media. Some footballer collapses and it's as if we've lost royalty !

I am not too sure about that; my take was that it was a heart warming story, a good story about football for once, where the only real concern was the poor lad who, lets be honest, we all thought had popped his clogs in front of quite a few people, and the remarkable story that has followed on from it. It seems the Welsh lad has thought he'd use it for his humour and got panned for it.

But he is the recipient of a knee jerk of course.

I think the moment you use colour/their race in any post, attempted humourous or not, and you're in trouble, rightly so in my book, but that does have to work cross the board.

Calling someone a **** as you think they're a **** is fine. Saying that you'd be as rigid as his dick, would be bad taste, but nothing else; saying as rigid as his ***** dick is completely different.
But yes, you are right in that this has to be across the board

This sort of trolling would have never happened under Labour.

Agreed. The lad who it applied to though wasn't exactly Twittering at the time ! He was fighting for his life in hospital!

Totally disgusting; the lad should never have been charged never mind convicted or jailed. What is this country coming to when we treat our up-coming young talent like this for what is no more than some drunken childish horseplay.

A few words from a police officer about his conduct would have sufficed.

I think you are right - this is what our up and coming talent is like. Which is why the UK is doomed.

When I went to HK a few years ago, South China morning post page 3 was about an election poster getting ripped. That is what standards are like in civilized parts of the world.

I am quite shocked you have defended this "talent". Maybe this is why you are still a virgin?

my understanding, was that he was using the situation to be billy big bollocks in front of other people.

There are tulip people about BP, anyone who uses race/colour in a manner like this is a bit touched in my view.

However, someone has said before, there seems to be no balance here.
