I've got a few with Welsh dragons on the back but the motto "Decus et Tutamen" round the edge, and dated a year that wasn't dragons. Rookie mistakes, counterfeiters

      Sorry about that.

Great, just found out that its illegal to use them once you know they're fake
If I take them to the bank they'll just confiscate them, with no exchange.

Don't know how true this is (wikipedia)
The significant increase of counterfeit £1 coins in recent times between 2008 and 2009 can be easily traced to the peak of the Late-2000s recession in September 2008.
Now ironically a large organisation was creating a lot of fake money at around the same time... BoE I think they're called

Had fake £75 banknote the other day. Gave it as a tip in a bar.

I've never had problems with English notes in Scotland.
Scottish notes on the other hand get dealt with more and more suspicion the further south you go. Last time I actually showed the shop keeper my train ticket which was still in my pocket to prove that it was from scotland
              Dream on???

English notes in Scotland are never a problem, only Scottish notes in England, grief easily avoided.

                You can see why.

This is what you have to watch out for over here:

Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

She went way overboard, I must have had 20 coins and might have accepted less, but I soon got a £1 coin when I asked to speak to the manager.
