Ok, one and the AMTrack wasn't destroyed. Still a good show though!

06:30 2 April – An Argentine force of 16 naval commandos reaches Government House, where they are stopped by 31 Royal Marines, 11 armed Royal Navy personnel and 1 local. Three Argentines are wounded, including the leader of the platoon, Lieutenant-Commander Giachino, who later dies. Another three are later captured inside the House, although by then (around 8:00) talks with Argentine officials about the surrender had already begun.

07:15 2 April – Having met no resistance, the Argentine Amtracs advance on Stanley, when they are ambushed from a house about 500 metres from the road. Royal Marines use rockets and machine guns. The Royal Marines fall back to government house. One of the Amtracs is scarred by machine gun fire, and there is one minor injury.

08:30 2 April – The Argentine Amtrac force secures Stanley.

We've divvied up the Oil 50:50 , shook hands and guess what

He then admits that Argentina could not attack the Falklands as its one and only Aircraft carrier is stuck in port. Apparently they cant afford the Diesel needed to get it going

To think I could have had it all

OK, whether to listen to a fat, ginger soak, or someone who has been there and done that:

In a letter to The Daily Telegraph, Admiral Sir John "Sandy" Woodward said that Britain was over-committed and could not rely on the US to support the defence of the islands as it did in 1982. "
        or maybe:

        or possibly:

Now, factor in that in the original conflict, we had the covert support of the US (who supplied us with sidewinder missiles we couldn't afford and a stepping stone in the Ascension islands), which we simply wouldn't have now. You have a mess.

As for highly training troops, being ready for all affairs, and were secretly hoping the Russions came over for a fight when you were all locked into Germany, please don't make me laugh. All you had to do in Germany was fook about in town, or the Naafi. It's as if you think I have no insight into life there

All they have to do on the Falklands, is drink, shag sheep and each other and sooner or later, the drink runs out.

Look at out exhalted servicemen, currently joining fat clubs and talking bollocks. As I said, take out the runway, or the typhoons and it would eb over within a week. Jesus, they could put a send in a commercial airline with 300 troops on board who could take the airport and disable it. There are so many ways they could stop the typhoons from operating.

As for being there for the waving of a white flag: are you that stupid fat boy? I have told you many, many times, lots of times, that I wouldn't be anywhere near the joint; it would take a grunt to wave a white flag (like they did last time remember), as I aint stupid enough to be there. I know all that boredom induced alcohol you have drunk whilst fellating your fellow grunts may have addled the brain somewhat, but I have been rather consistent with letting you know I wouldn't be anywhere near a conflict, so please get it right just once?

The articles are quite long, and some of you might need some help with the longer words or TLAs but the upshot is, it aint happening.
            Good find

However, would it be cynical to suggest tht DC is likely to lose the next election and might decide to leave the stable door open to get his own Falklands moment?

He can leave it open if he wants, the fact is, our stable door is a lot bigger than the Argentinian horse. Even if we shut it whilst the horse is bolting, it's going to hit the horse pretty hard.

And to Zm - crawl back under your rock lad, you're embarrassing yourself.

I was pointing out in response to ZM's post that claiming the AI's were American.

Sorry son, 1200 retards holding guns, and bored out of their tiny minds, isn't going to stop it being over run if we can't even get anyone there to back them up.

So, who to listen to: people too stupid to get a proper job so they joined the army, or ex military chiefs with an ear for the real facts.
