I guessed at much but it was an excuse for some pointless (but inaccurate ) comment.

I'm surprised at that. I was attending coffee morning on Saturday to hear the usual comment of can we have the christening on May 2nd as we've booked the party venue.

That's one family the church won't see again.

You can never be sure. We only attended church to get baby BP christened (Mrs BP bought up a Catholic). But 4.5 years later we are still all attending!

The statement no you can't book a date and the next available ones are July 15th / August 19th went down like a lead balloon. That was before there were told about maximum attendance figures (its a small church).

When it comes to families who ask for specific dates they never ever return. The statement that we've already booked the venue afterwards rather gives the game away that its the party that matters not the actual act.

Sorry we were only invited to the main house - we did not go near the servants quarters, stabling or garages.

My wife commented at the weekend that no DMs are made in the UK anymore and they all come from Indonesia.

Well for the record my DM industrial site boots (as in steel toe cap etc) are made in China but they are still very comfy

The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”
