It's a shop, it isn't a paki shop, it doesn't sell pakis, it sells whatever. That's what is at issue here. Where I lived before, the local newsagent was from pakistan. He sold papers and sweets, and was open insanely long hours. Lovely chap. It was a newsagents, not a paki shop. There's where these is an issue.
WTF does that have to do with my question?

I wanted to know if met a chap from Karachi and wanted to tell everybody his nationality which word I should use.
    Just saying like.

Well, I would hazzard a guess that you should use the correct one, Pakistani.

..and no, shortening it to Paki isn't acceptable as previously discussed here, and in the high court

I do wish you would stop saying that, it is an offensive way to refer to a Pakistani you know!

Its you that keeps saying it!!!

Now why is it OK to refer to me as a Brit? If you can not shorten Pakistani then you can not shorten British, because that would be racist.

Some Scots and Welsh would be offended by it.

By what? You make less sense than AtW.

All of us born in the British Isles are defacto British. Doesn't matter if we like it or not, we are British.

                  Speak tomorrow, off out now.

You're wrong of course, but we can discuss that tomorrow, I have a nice bike ride to finish.

                  Cheers

Because of cultural and historical context.
