Not sure we need one - it's almost saying that women need 'special promotion' to pretend they're equal, as opposed to being equal in their own right.

In a civilised country I agree it's a bit patronising, but we should keep it while there are still places where being a woman is practically a criminal offence.

Even in the UK there's still a lot of prejudice and discrimination about. Although I think it's important to differentiate between calling women and men "equal" Vs "the same".
