I have been toying with a projector onto a rather large white painted wall.

    Any opinions? (as if)
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

[QUOTE=Swamp Thing]Friend o'mine who is a reseller for flat screens says:

Plasmas: getting overtaken now for picture quality by LCDs. Plasmas need regassing in approx 2-4 yrs' time, dependent on viewing time. When most owners get the quote, they'll probably just bin the TV & start again with an LCD.

        [\QUOTE]

Are you sure he is a friend ???

regassing of plasma's is a complete myth !!

Nice! Make sure the wall's flat and doesn't have any paintings hung on it.

                I've got a flat-screen CRT and the picture's fine.
I've also got the first seven Van der Graaf Generator LPs on vinyl, and I live in a time-warp.

How about a 50'' Sony Bravia LCD rear-projection (or similar rear-projector anyway)? Looks like good value for the money.
