Try Group Accommodation, Big Holiday Cottages, Large Group Holiday Houses and Party Houses. which has Large Holiday Cottages to Hire on Scottish Estate which although is separate houses should do ok.

I am not about to tell peeps how to live their lives.

But I whisked the missus up to Gretna green, just the two of us.

It cost us two hundred quid, we have a story that we can tell the grandkids, we were able to buy friends and family a bottle of whiskey
plus i got a cheap hoover
and we have somewhere to go back to every year

        and

it'll only cost 200 quid to get a new one, when this one stops sucking.
the hoover i mean. that i got in gretna

I know however that (soon to be) Mrs MF seems to want the big family do with all the trimmings.

            Aye. it's the fashion

but it's sad that half the people who go dont want to be there and they will spend months agonising.
            human nature eh
mind you. the other half will love it

I went to the pub with my future FIL. After a few beers we were both agreed. Small, modest & close family was the way forward.

After Mrs MF and the MIL went for a drink. Huge, extravagant and anyone they'd ever met for more than 5 minutes was the way forward.

you imply that he has no friends

so who will chain him to a lampost in Blackpool, strip him naked, paint him blue all over, shave one of his eyebrows off, sh!t on his head and whazz him with a cattle prod ?

maybe we should ask for volumteers. I can afford the cattle prod, even if I cant make the do
