What's the bet the meteor was a man made object/waste?

Very pretty, but physically inaccurate.

For a start it's not nearly bright enough - Once an object that size made contact, at any reasonable speed, there'd be a tremendous white glare, and you'd hardly see anything. From a distance the Earth would look like a star for at least a day or two.
