It's already been agreed by current Govt that threshold will raise to £10k during course of this Parliament.

they have already started, child benefit & tax credits are to be stopped for higher rate tax payers. £1-2K a year for most middle income families will cover the shortfall. plus of course if they raise to £10k the income support bill will fall.

Tories may be filthy capitalists but most of them can use a calculator.

They have failed us one too many times.
How will we bail them out the next time? With what?
Where has the left ever worked?

Absurd. Borrow more and you've got an even bigger deficit problem, which will be even more painful to sort out.

I don't know how anyone can take this seriously.
          Payday loan, init?

So perhaps they are not looking hard enough. Perhaps if 100 people really stare hard at an advert for one vacancy for long enough, it will turn into 100 vacancies by magic ....
              I didn't resign.

I've been made redundant as a permie when the government cancelled a large defence contract, and at other times I've had months between contracts looking for work, not nice with a big mortgage and kids.

But at no time did I blame my situation on others, I am responsible for myself. I didn't sit whingeing at the unfairness of it all, waiting for a job to come to me, I just got on with it with a positive attitude.

Sorry, it wasn't meant to sound like that.

My son grew up in Berkshire, and he found it very strange at first, because down south they are either after something or trying to sell you something.

You have to talk back, because it is very bad manners not to, and they will think you very 'odd' if you ignore them like you would in London.

The downside is that there is only ONE big employer, and it's like a company town. So if you get benched you STAY benched.
That is not the London I have grown up and lived in. If a stranger talks to us we call the police

Not sure I'm understanding you? Are you saying the government should create 2.75 million jobs?
