The good news is I do have 17 hours to finish.
Hard yakka, but its worth it. I did 400 miles in 3 days on a bike, and it was tough, luckily, this isn't in Cornwall and Devon so you'll fly it.

Good luck, always fancied doing a triathlon, but you dont jut need to be fit, you need to be super fit.

Every now and then the co-op sells 4 Snickers for £1. Used to be 5 for £1, but that's inflation for you. I find them less sickly than Mars bars, which they also offer for the same price. And they are about 55p each at the tillOriginally posted by BrilloPad View PostThis is just the sort of training advice I need! Well done.Originally posted by BrilloPad View PostToday I cycled the iron man distance(112.5 miles) - took 9 hours. For sustinance I ate 8 mars bars and had 2 bottles of lucozade sport - which was all I had until dinner tonight.

My legs are stiff. But worse my perineum is damned sore now.

I use the energy bars and drinks when cycling and they do give you a burst for a long while, taste like tulipe though, and the colour of your urine....Originally posted by TimberWolf View PostEvery now and then the co-op sells 4 Snickers for £1. August 18th/19th. But I have to fit training in around my 3 kids which is tough. My goal is just to finish within the 17 hours - 2 hours swim, 8 hours cycle, 7 hours run. I will be 49 on 27th Aug so its going to be tough!Comment

The thing is I just wanted to carry cash and my mobile. So I went to garrages. Mars bars were 72p for a duo. And £1.12 for lucozade sport.Originally posted by TimberWolf View PostEvery now and then the co-op sells 4 Snickers for £1. Used to be 5 for £1, but that's inflation for you.
