It was a dire game of rugby from two poor teams. It could have gone either way but it didnt and England won. ASFIAC so what.
Fortunately I missed it and was able to watch the recording. Armed with the fast forward button it was all over in 10 minutes.

It wasn't the best exhibition of the art, but it was a tense and competitive match from beginning to end and that matters more to me. I definitely enjoyed it live.

However neither side impressed me in the slightest. Losing a match with the possesion and territorial advantage the Scots had is unforgiveable, especially against a team as ill-prepared and panicky as England were. Of the four teams I've seen so far, only France look capable of playing a coherent game. Let's see how it goes this afternoon, but while I suspect Ireland will be missing the two-man team they've played behind for so long, some of the other guys will take the chance to shine.

Although I really hope the Welsh carry on where they left off. If they do, on the evidence so far, they will be difficult to stop. I'll miss the final Wales/France game 'cos I'll be in NZ, but I'm betting that will be for the championship.
There was no downward pressure and he happened to briefly touch the ball with his sleeve as he was going forward. No way would that have been a try.

Which bit of "The video ref didn't so that's the end of it." did you not understand?

Quite pleased that Wales won, although that game could have gone either way. Great fun to watch though.

Good game to watch - but should have been a red card for the upending, very lucky to have got away with a yellow

Yep, can't argue with that. Especially given Warburton's comments on his red card in the lead-up.

Another great triumph for video refereeing

Lots of time wasted, players stand around freezing their balls off, everyone gets bored and in the end we have a decision that people end up disagreeing about.

Reminds me of the 2007 world cup final; ref asked for video pictures after Cueto went in at the corner and the touch judge had not raised his flag, TMO spends bloody ages fannying about with unclear pictures and the debate still goes on; one photo looks like it was a try, another looks like it wasn't.

Get rid of this TMO tosh and let refs take decisions for themselves. Sure, they'll make mistakes sometimes, just as players do. Live with it; it's a game.

Perhaps the video ref can be used for disciplinary issues instead and then finally the much more serious issue of tip tackling and spear tackling can be removed from the game.
