    26k???...LOL if it was funny.

Me and Kim get just over £100/week between the two of us.
£300/month towards the rent, when the rent is actually £450.
    Council Tax (about £100/month) paid.

    That's it.

I've got my fingers and everything else crossed about a job that pays £8 per hour. I'll jump at it.

If a family earns £26k and has many children, aren't they legally entitled to benefits too, meaning they don't have to live on £26k?

Great plan - because people with jobs dont get a payrise and a bigger house every time they have more kids!!

The problem is the hand wringing classes have managed to focus attention on the children. It is not fair to punish the children.
          Just saying like.

          where there's chaos, there's cash !

I could agree with you, but then we would both be wrong!

You disagree then, and suggest it is fair? Or do you have an alternative solution to benefits which protects the kids without pampering the parents?
