Most definitely the internet. So many things from those Compuserve chat rooms 15 odd years ago and early filesharing over ICQ to learning university modules online 1 week before the exam because I hadn't bothered to go to the lectures to internet shopping and social media nowadays... it's significantly shaped my life.It's about time I changed this sig...Comment

Every generation likes to feel they are making some original contribution to culture and science etc.
In our age of rapid discovery and innovation we can hardly imagine what a curse it will be if nothing has ever been forgotten and can be recalled instantly, and there is (or everyone assumes there is, with nobody able to disprove it) little more to add or say or sing.
Maybe in the end that will be one of the biggest spurs to space exploration beyond the solar system - A wish to find some variety in nature elsewhere, and escape the burden of all those archives of the past.Work in the public sector? Read the IR35 FAQ hereComment
