I said before WW2 or better even before WW1 - the UK has gone far more downhill in the last 100 years than Greece (their hey days were like 2000 years ago), Portual and Spain (they went downhill after they burned Giordano Bruno).

So in your view when it becomes harder to service same debt it somehow becomes cheaper?!?!

It's all relative - when you have to keep paying £500 per month to service debt it might be same amount on one hand but if you have to make cutbacks because you have less income and no longer go out as often then same debt is suddenly more expensive - higher %-tage of income goes to service it.

100 years ago, there were large slums in all large British cities and apart from a small elite people had far lower prosperity, life expectancy, health care, housing conditions etc etc.

You have not explained how the fook people who have less disposable income due to higher prices on food, fuel have cheaper debts (excluding mortgages linked to BoE rate in which case it really got cheaper to service).

Now everyone thinks it's owed to them and are about to slide down the other side of the hill. Probably you included judging by the lack of billable work you do.

Look. If tomorrow, the price of bread falls by 90% and your income falls by 90% (assuming it's not already zero) and everything else stay the same, has bread got cheaper?
