You need to check definition of word democracy:

"A form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system."

Source: Democracy | Define Democracy at Dictionary.com

I am personally fine with people having all sort of views, even dressing up in nazi uniform as they please HOWEVER just because they have such right does not mean I have to be friends with them and it does not mean they can remain MPs or still get invited into places where people don't agree with wearing of nazi uniform (unless it's in the movie).

. . . and you need to understand my post. At no time did I say that the 'definition' of democracy was tolerance. It is, however, a by-product of the political system in which anyone can vote for, or indeed represent any political party they choose.

As for you being friends with people who wear Nazi costumes, who is asking you to?

Not always, you are just assuming that because most Western countries are very tolerant to all sort of stuff AND there is democracy here then one follows the other automatically.

Say Germany is a democracy yet they won't tolerate this nazi tulip. France also a democracy and they have laws to enforce their secular state that in this country would probably cause massive riots if they were adopted.

Forget the channel but there was a couple of great TV progs on Nazis couple of days ago. Goebbles gave a public speech saying no government was really strong without its propoganda, the state and propoganda went hand in hand. Seemed a bit odd, if you are to use propoganda effectively, should you be telling people?

So am I - that programme was criminally unfunny.

Interesting - many memorials to the war dead in France carry inscriptions like "killed by the Germans" and "victim of Nazi barbarity". You couldn't put stuff like that on graves here.

Nazism is fascist itself. I was correct to use the term fascist as I was also discussing UAF's behaviour as well. They are fascist, hence me using that term.

People are misguided on the term tolerance though.

Tolerant just means I cant legally smash someones head in with a rock in an "honour killing" or have them dragged off by the special forces in to the hills to die like in other countries.

However being tolerant doesn't mean I have to like someones views/opinions/beliefs, share them or even choose to be around them. In a free society, I should also have the freedom to tell them in a non threatening manner how repugnant I find them, but we don't live in a free society.

What made you want to attend a KKK lodge meeting?

Thank god for that. I would have been deeply concerned if you had found it funny.
