a middle the road gold digger is one that is not capable of going for a Donald Trump / Alan Sugar type of rich target nor is willing to go for a working class bod who can afford the rare occasional luxury but instead goes for a guy who earns far above the national average in salary and can afford numerous mid range luxuries (an IT contractor).
