Which Browser? - On my main computer I mainly use:

You included Opera, that's clearly the AndyW option.
Shame it's not multiple choice - I have Chrome on one screen and IE9 on the other. IE9 is a wonderful improvement on IE8, I got bored of FF a while ago.
If IE9 had more add-on functionality for spell-checking and ad-blocking, I think it would be pretty close with Chrome. However, I've never heard any rumours MS plan to go that direction... anyone know what's in store for IE10 (desktop version not the stripped-down Metro one)?Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

It's also fine for most Youtube videos as long as I don't try to go full screen with them.
I don't think I'd try playing a DVD through a VM either.Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.Comment

If I could be arsed remembering how to set up an X11 redirect onto this system, I could still run Navigator today.
Oops. Gotta go. FF has just told me there are updates to download.Last edited by Sysman; 22 November 2011, 14:25.Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.Comment

Works fine if you use something like VideoLan's VLC media player.
Only things I still do in the host relate to needing direct access to the real hardware:
1. ripping DVDs to my NAS (tried in a VM and it either didn't work or was painfully sloooooow)
2. video converting (though I think Handbrake would work ok in a VM if sufficient resources were allocated)
Even iTunes syncs with my iPod in a VM. Which is handy as I no longer have to faff about setting up the library when I change hardware or want to transfer to my laptop and back again for stints away from home. Just copy the VM over.Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it

At clientco we have the amazing out of date selection of IE6 or FFox 3.6.15.
Having recently had a security purge across the company I no longer have admin rights on my machine and thereore can't upgrade!! , so most of the time I use Firefox.Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office.Comment

One place they tried to lock my PC down like that, despite needing the ability to test websites in various browsers.
I just found a server not being used for much and remote desktopped onto it for a spot of freedom. Handy when they give you admin credentials for the servers but not your own PC.Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it
