Access to the large and impressive shared pool and spa facilities beneath is easy, and involves a short and pleasant walk through the landscaped communal areas.
          For those reasons, I'm out.

Wait two months and buy it in new drachmas.

              Beat me to it.

But best make sure there isn't a German mortgage outstanding on the property first.

I'd be very careful about buying anything which falls under Greek tax juristiction; someone I know who moved over there and built his own place is now being hounded by tax officials and threatened with court after they decided to change how the height of a perimiter wall should be measured.
Apparently he's not alone and several other ex-pats are being hounded for other spurious "tax infringements"

You are probably right. Think of all the horror stories that British expats have to relate about Spanish planning and multiply by a fudge factor.

Why would a change of currency make any difference? Why would a change in currency lead to a dramatic drop in value? What's the thinking there?

It's actually easier for me to buy in euros since that's what is in the bank.

Corfu is not Spain!!! If I even thought there was a union jack outside a tacky restaurant the deal would be off.
