Biggest blagger you have ever worked with?

The largest consultancy practices blag all the time. I got handed some outrageous jobs early on in my career, and heard one really scary story about a girl being sent in a cab to buy books on the way to the client because they wanted an SME to design a new system for them...

It's engrained in the industry and theres nothing anyone can do about it.

Biggest blagger by far (that I know of, the best blaggers never get found out ) was:

I turned up for an interview with the IT Manager who I quickly sussed knew nothing about the role I was being brought in for. He asked no relevant questions and after a very short interview (about 5 minutes IIRC) he asked how soon I could start, saying he needed to get lots of bodies in to help sort out the mess he had created so far. [not his exact words but may as well have been]

He lasted one week after I started, but they never bothered re-interviewing us to check we were up to the job. Lucky break as it allowed me to move from windows apps to web apps, having no prior knowledge of the latter.

He came unstuck when another contractor came onboard that had worked with him at a well know car manufacturer and knew he was bulltulipting about things like being ex-SAS and being a manager at said car manufacturer.

I wonder if he's related to MileAnus. I'd have put money on it being him if I hadn't seen a mugshot when he was in the news.

I once worked with a guy who claimed he'd made and lost millions. He spent most of his time speculatively buying up domain names, and was convinced that because he could do a bit of Flash development (badly) he could turn his hand to anything. He was going to move into .NET easily because apparently "C# is just like Action Script innit?". He didn't get extended.

When i was permie my boss at the time was interviewing for a vacant position and a fella came in and was telling the interview panel that he had been in the forces and had been part of british military inteligence during a particular campaign but obviously he could not really talk about it due to the official secrets act.

Unfortunately for him my boss had infact been in military inteligence during that very campaign and after he had let this fella ramble on about it he proceeded to point out that their were only 4 members of the inteligence division on that campaign and as he had been one of them did not remember this guy at all

Turns out he had been in the army, as a driver

Just remembered, I had a guy try to add me on LinkedIn, claiming that he worked at a client at the same time as me. Only problem was that neither me nor anyone else who worked there (including the development manager) had any idea who he was. He was taking the credit for stuff that I know he definitely didn't work on and he's added quite a few people from the client who have obviously just accepted it without question.

So, does anyone know any way to shop him to LinkedIn? Don't know how I could prove that it's fraudulent but I'd be pissed off if I was a client who hired him on the basis of work that he didn't do, or worse, if it was my work that he took credit for.

Nigerian contractor (hope he's not on here), stayed over at his pad after a lash and left me to deal with baliffs following morning after he'd got a taxi into work (too late a session to consider driving).
