In which case I'm sure 12 months half price is the minimum deal you are prepared to accept. And no cashback malarkey. -
naughty!Originally posted by FleetwoodI was thinking of a completely different "minimal acceptable position" for Janey.

sounds good to me... will definitely be going in there with all guns blazing... woudln't be so bad except for the fact it took over an feckin hour for them to sort the stoopid contract out on saturday and now I have to do the whole thing again!Originally posted by The MasterIn which case I'm sure 12 months half price is the minimum deal you are prepared to accept. nah they're gaining my custom... I'm porting my number from O2 to my new vodafone account. I did wonder whether it was them lying but I can't see what they'd gain from it... if phones4u try to claim this then I'll be telling THEM to ring voda there and then and sort it out.Originally posted by DaveBHave you considered that it might be Vodaphone who are lying.... After all, they have nothing to lose since they are going to lose your custom anyway."Well behaved women rarely make history"

Raising voice in the shop will scare other customers away - they may want to keep you quiet with a bribeOriginally posted by janeysounds good to me... will definitely be going in there with all guns blazing... woudln't be so bad except for the fact it took over an feckin hour for them to sort the stoopid contract out on saturday and now I have to do the whole thing again!

Don't get pulled to one side away from the other customers you lose your bargaining position as its one on one.

is this definitely true?Originally posted by The MasterAll irrelevant. There is a statutory minimum seven day cooling off period for all contracts, regardless of T&Cs.
what bit of law says this? I just wanna be able to go in there and make sure they don't mess me around again.

Absolutely. This is why I love it when a supplier screws up within those first seven days - in fact I positively encourage it. It gives you a massive advantage that you can ruthlessly exploit to drive the deal down to rock bottom. It's even better if it's a retail type shop because the last thing they want is you making a scene or telling other customers "do you know what they did", which you should of course start doing if they try to play hardball.Originally posted by janeysounds good to me... will definitely be going in there with all guns blazing... woudln't be so bad except for the fact it took over an feckin hour for them to sort the stoopid contract out on saturday and now I have to do the whole thing again!

Beg pardon, it's 5 days. Consumer Credit Act 1974 is your boy. It's only 7 days if you weren't in the shop to close the deal (Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000).Originally posted by janeyis this definitely true?
