Yes, probably somewhere in 2015.Originally posted by doodab View PostIt seems that the next generation Intel CPUs (Sandy Bridge with socket 2011, quad channel memory and 6 cores) will be upon us in six weeks or so.
Anybody planning on getting hold of one?

Yes I was thinking sandy bridge but then I had a google to see what else is on the horizon and it seems these are due mid november. It sounds silly but with 8GB in my desktop and 8GB in my laptop and both of them running 6GB VMs at once I'm starting to think 16GB might seem a little restrictive in 6 months time.Originally posted by Scrag Meister View PostYes, probably somewhere in 2015.

Probably one of the few scenarios where it makes sense to upgrade to the quad channel Sandy Bridge while not needing server grade kit.
As you say earlier in the thread, it's a reasonably cheap way to get over 16gb ram using current el cheapo 4gb sticks.Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it
