You may struggle to locate a 4 seat bike.Originally posted by Durbs View PostGet yourself a bike. While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'Comment

But why would you want 4 seats in a weekend plaything? To show the wife and kids how you can do donuts around Tesco's car park?Originally posted by doodab View PostYou may struggle to locate a 4 seat bike.
Weekend playthings are generally an indulgence for yourself. If he'd said, "I want a fairly fast family car for under £10,000" then fair enough.
My suggestion still XJS.Last edited by Durbs; 4 October 2011, 14:17.Comment

I had one of them, needed to replace the engine after 35,000km. Was quite often in the garage but it was good fun while it lasted.Originally posted by amoeba View Post
I also like the look of the C32. Looks very boring admitedly, but 350bhp should be good fun and you can pick up good onces for 6-8k.“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”Comment

What about this one then, £10k - High miles but still...Originally posted by bobspud View PostWhen you find a real Vauxhall Carlton for £10k do let me know. the last one I saw was over 20K.
Lotus : LOTUS CARLTON
Again, a few of them around now. Just a matter of looking and picking up a bargain.Originally posted by bobspud View PostSame for Cosworth models they are past the chav phase and are now sort after so a good one is not in your price range...,Comment

Yes, dressing in leather and hanging out with a bunch of other leather-clad men is very heterosexual.Originally posted by Durbs View PostGet yourself a bike. Could get a nearly new Fireblade for that.
Cars are for gays and ladies (unless its an early XJS, which is acceptable).
Drive to the countryside pub?Originally posted by Durbs View PostBut why would you want 4 seats in a weekend plaything? Why on earth would anyone waste £10K on a 20 year old Vauxhall Carlton?
Madness. Wasn't a particularly good car back then, now it's just a Chav dustbin.
An 2003 Audi RS6 can be had for about the same money, and has a 450 bhp twin turbo V8, modern interior, and hits 60 in about 4.5 seconds. Take the limiter off and it will do 180 MPH if that's your thing. Can be easily remapped to 500 bhp too.
Much newer, much faster, much nicer, much less chav.Comment
