You dont fancy a walk in the park followed with a discussion about dogging then?

      Depends. Sometimes it's alright.

Sometimes you just want to go back to the room, have some room service and relax.

It's a bit of a faff going to a restaurant hand solo when you are hungry and just want to eat. I've done it hundreds of times though.

It depends where i am, on one gig i was stuck in a hotel on the edge of an industrial estate with a small village about 1/2 a mile away and I was advised that the pub probably wasn't somewhere i'd want to visit for reasons of personal safety, in general I will get out and either take a book or more often lead a colleague astray.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

Depends if I have rented a flat or not.
In my own space I am perfectly happy with my own company and my own toys.
I like to cook and have plenty of distractions. I occasionally step out for a bier. Often enough to know the landlords of a few bars by name.
In a B&B I will need to eat so will go out. Then it depends on my mood and the company on offer.
I quite enjoy being the strange bloke in the corner reading the paper alone as much as I enjoy meeting new people or chatting up the barmaid.
You go mad sitting in your room alone with no friends and no toys. Wibble.
          Just saying like.

I like to buy a newspaper and find a pub that does food, then back to the hotel for an earlyish night to catch 10 hours of baby free sleep. Have done it in all kinds of places, ranging from Oxford to Grangemouth, and always had a nice enough time.

I would think nothing of going out at ClientCo's expense on my own to a nice restarauant and enjoying their finest wines.

Funny as when I've spoken to female friends, they're the ones who tend to stay in their rooms at night, as for a fear of getting hit on by weirdos ................ probably like me

I have no issue with going out for a pint and a bite by myself whilst away during the week and would do so if staying in a hotel. Staring at the same four walls with whatever passes for a club sandwich drives me potty. My only issue is that it can lead to piling on the weight.

Similar to Arturo's post, if it's a longer running gig then get a flat, cook something yourself and catch up on sleep/book/whatever.

Well, call me old fashioned, but I like to hire an escort, then take her back to my hotel for some fun.

Happy days at the Gabor household.

                    MrJJ: Hi honey, I'm home.
MrsJJ: That's nice. Did you have a good trip?
MrJJ: Yes darling. And I've brought you back a present.
                    MrsJJ: Ooooh. Is is jewelry?
                    MrJJ: No silly. It's chlamydia.

I prefer an enthusiastic amateur to a jaded professional. There is some thrill in the chase.
