When you're contracting away from home, do you eat out by yourself - visit a bar for a drink or two, stroll to a restaurant, etc? Do you read or spend the time looking like you're embarrassed to have no friends?

Doesn’t bother me at all, used to it. Pub type places are best as most people don’t mind sharing a table and a chat.Originally posted by d000hg View PostWhen you're contracting away from home, do you eat out by yourself - visit a bar for a drink or two, stroll to a restaurant, etc? I cant understand those kinda people.Originally posted by Cliphead View Postor some sad fck who never leaves the hotel room
On a business trip before, all my other colleagues wanted to eat ASAP, then go to their rooms alone. We were in a lovely area (compared to our home area) as well.
I rather liked going back to the hotel, savouring a company paid feast, then walking and exploring a nice local pub for one or two or walking and enjoying the summer evening.Comment

They'd rather stay alone in their rooms than join you outside.Originally posted by wim121 View PostI cant understand those kinda people. On a business trip before, all my other colleagues wanted to eat ASAP, then go to their rooms alone. We were in a lovely area (compared to our home area) as well.

Definitely. My favourite trick is to go to a smart place, pay in cash, then take ages counting the change when it comes back so that everybody thinks I'm skint but eccentric.Comment

Hallo there! Just got back from a splendid evening having a beer and some food in the West End. On my own."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."
