Quite why you try to turn a German politician having a go at our political infrastructure to a condemnation of the union is quite staggering.

Because in negotiating this position we have fulfilled the main prerequisite of successful sovereign power, in putting the interests of ourselves first. Just because we have taken measures to safeguard ourselves from much of the fallout from the failed economic experiment that is the Euro, does not mean we are being obstructive. It means we have played with our heads, and what we are hearing from this pair of disgruntled mittel-european troughsnufflers is simply the sour grapes concerto!!

And another thing. Who wants well healed? I want affordability. Good reliable public services. 10 years from now you'll be arguing we have equality when the tram system is replaced by horse & cart and a monorail is whizzing round EC1

Just don't ask the folks in Edinburgh to project manage it, else you'll get a very expensive horse and carts which get damaged by the rails and pot-holes from the uncompleted tram system...
