I normally look at the answer and go Ahhh, yes. Of course.
Have to admit that this one went right over my head.
Hal was the nickname of Henry V in Bill's play of that name, hence the "King".
Also "cyan" is a shade of blue I think. So stretching a point, that would account for the "cyon".
I hate quiz crosswords though.
