I am working through Hyphen at a large retail bank, not had any notice of a rate cut, which is surprising given the client names mentioned in this thread.

The rumour mill kicked in to action well before the official notice came when I got my cut. I am assuming we are talking about the same one here but I am talking about a few years ago.

I would say no and stick to my guns, if you are any good they will back down. They are probably calculating 75% will take it and that is enough to pay for one of the executive's bonus Ferrari.

Why? I wasn't offered a rate cut, all the contractors on the project here were given notice. If I were offered a rate cut I would do exactly as I said above.

Generally I dont think it matters why people give advice. People generally ask until they get the advice they want to hear. So everyone's opinion is valid.
