I think anything involving nuclear power is fairly lucrative. I had a job interview (trainee nuclear engineer) with BNFL a few years back. Got offered the gig but turned it down.

3 months later they announced a building program that would have kept me billing for 15 years!

Nulear sector pay is poor. The long term nature of the jobs means folks sit there for years, hence no need to pay good rates.
