That is actually one of the things that can get people thrown off my test team; continually asking devs questions when they could find the answers themselves.

absolutely totally neccesary but never enjoyable and a feckless tester can make you miserable - a girl working for our current client has a mania for raising every defect at the highest priority during UAT, she even escalates them up to senior managers - she has already been told by her boss that such behaviour is inappropriate - so the clients UAT system makes ours look awesome - and ours is tulip!

Sounds like she's an end-user; often they abuse the UAT process to resist change.

haha, spot on!! many would rather spend hours manually amending excel spreadsheet than have the data delivered directly to them - i suppose it gives them something to do but this one must be midly retarded...
