Agree with V8 about the later the better but the reality is it's still the only "supercar" you can use every day. The only alternative would be the SL AMG55.

I had a '993' chassis 911 about 5 years ago, great car though I wouldn't expect to be blown into the weeds by it's performance unless you're getting a turbo version, but £35K won't get you a 997 chassis one, and barely a 996 one.
Like others have said, for value for money maybe think outside the box and get something out of the norm.
My vice is Nissan Skyline GTR's....I've had 6 and counting, though I have yet to get the new one but time will tell....Comment

Get yourself a track car, buy a decent cheap 2nd hand Porsche and a trailer and use it for track days, there are enough track days now to fill every weekend and much more fun ragging it round the race track than negotiating the speed bumps in the high streetOriginally posted by Paddy View PostComment

I'm currently running an 06 Nissan 350Z and that is a great car, change from £20k for a relatively recent one, or the new 370Z of course. Easily fast enough to lose your licence, big grin factor.
@CP - Gotta love the "new" GTR, keep telling the wife I'll get one one day, but not sure I could ever justify the £50,000+ pricetag though, will see how they drop over time.Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office.Comment

I've seen plenty of 997s ranging from £28k upwards, and it would seem that you can get a reasonable one for around £35k. Mileage on these is anywhere from 35,000 to 60,000, and the one I was particular enamoured with was a 2007 model at £34k with 50,000 on the clock.Originally posted by ChrisPackit View Post

You could just about get a 3 year old Nissan GTR for that. I know if you're a badge snob and the kind of guy who casually tosses his car keys with the Porsche key fob on the table at your local wine bar, then the 911 would be your car of choice but the GTR is so much more of a better car. 3 and a bit seconds to 60 as opposed to the 911's 5 and a bit seconds, and 195 mph....FROM A DATSUN !!! - I've had the R32 / R33 / R34 GTR's but yet to try the R35 yet....Originally posted by ChimpMaster View PostComment
