I wonder if that's why there are so few recent members.

Instead of constructive arguments or debating points the 'good ole boys' of the Forum just indulge in insults.

it looks as if they want to scare new members off and keep it on the 'ole boy network'.

I don't know if any recent members (if there are many still here) have experienced this verbal bullying too.

Some of the main bullying appears to be from the administrators as can be seen from my profile (controlled by them)

It's kind of like a filtering process, everyone has to go through it, it sorts the wheat from the chuff. I suspect you might be chuff.

I hear mumsnet is the place to hang out for sensitive souls like yourself, I'm sure you'll find a warm welcome and a wee cuddle and a kiss on the forehead when you relay your horrid experience on CUK.

This 'filtering process' appears to be like the 'inductions' that take place at fraternities in US colleges or in public schools here.

Have you told your mum about it?

Nope, I'd find it a stretch to describe many regulars on here as bullies, but I will grant you there aren't too many overly sensitive souls who make it past the 1st interview round.

Every forum has it's own character, I'd expect nothing less from a bunch of self employed mercenaries than what I experience here. You're just the latest in a long string of soon to fade into obscurity newbies crying because no one wants to play nice.

Take it all with a pinch of salt and ignore or give as good back as you get. You might even enjoy it.

Craic, you may think I am exaggerating, but it was a lot tougher when I joined up. In those days the induction involved a lot more than verbal abuse
First they tied me down to the table with a washing line, then they smothered me with baby oil , then started felching me with ordinary household items.

p.s. are you busy tonight ?

I didn't see HOW sensitive* you were so I would apologise with some more reputation but
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Craic again.
                * I did mean to say clueless / whiny loser bedwetter / waste of space socky but I thought that would be a touch insensitive in this thread.

                  bulling
acting like a bull. Said of cows when they mount other cows that are in standing estrus. The buller may be a cow with adrenal virilism which always acts in this manner or it may be a cow about to come into estrus. Said also of steers in a feedlot.

Lots of sexual and same sex posturing, yep sounds about right.

                    Bullying?

There's a lot around. Some really nasty types on here.

What you need is protection. Give me your pocket money each day and I'll make sure nobody hurts you. Go on turn out your pockets.
