The rump of the repayment of Greece's outstanding debt was due in 2010. Once they get past the end of this year, which they will, they are home free. Even if the markets refuse to lend to the PIIGS at all you are talking about perhaps €600 billion more in loans from the ECB being required. It's a lot of money yes, but not beyond the realms of possibility so I don't believe there will be a sovereign default in the eurozone at all.

The US government is being held to ransom by ideologically motivated fundamentalist lunatics. Far more dangerous than what is going on in Europe.
The yanks have a tremendous ability to get themselves out of the glue, the place was stuffed more than once last century and they will do it again once they get shot of Obama who clearly knows nowt about making money.

Despite their ability to vote in total idiots to power they are a highly creative industrious nation with a good educational system and a strong work ethic when pushed. What much of Europe lacks.

Yes because Londoners generally suck off the tit of the Euro state, rather than being one of the most dynamic economic regions in the world.

In the teeth of strong opposition you are rapidly becoming the CUK village idiot.
      Hard Brexit now!

London is paradise for chancers, blaggers and spivs. Too many people, most of them are *****, you can do very well there but you'll need to flog your soul.

I'm quite looking forwards to coming home but i don't plan to die there.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

That's your considered opinion, is it?
Says more about you and your lack of judgement than London really.
I find it full of the most talented people from around the world.

Most of the talented people i know have dispersed. True creatives can work from anywhere, the technically good to germany or the us. London is a place to stop for a bit to make money, not a place to make a life, though some have and are happy enough.

Don't get me wrong, i love london and have had a home there for many years, i just don't think it's the centre of the universe or even a particularly great place to live unless the only thing you care about in life is money in which case it's a natural choice.

Yet the Yanks I know have been complaining for several years that their education system is being dumbed down.

                  Agree with the rest though.

I've worked in Germany, Switzerland, the City and the regions. And without doubt the brightest people worked in the City - its a magnet for the talented from all over the world.
And most of them loved London for its cosmopolitanism, history, parks, galleries, museums, pubs, clubs, live music, street markets etc etc.
Don't get me wrong unlike most I've a soft spot for Germany. I think we coukld learn a few lessons from them.
But the only German city I've been in that has that feeling of life to it is Berlin. Other cities I've lived in or visited in the German/Swiss world: Basle , Zurich, Frankfurt, Munich seem provincial by comparison: they're just too sterile.

Living in those cities is not the same as working in them, weekend trippers do not integrate. Typical.
