Not really. Murdoch is a bit of a muppet and has let his empire run riot for too long.

High ranking policeman (esp. in the met) are much more likely to resign than retire.

I find it strange that you think Cameron is to blame though. Typically woolly socialist thinking.

Hes not to blame but hiring Coulson has been political suicide.

I think you (and the left leaning media) give more of a tulip than the majority of the voting population tbh.

According to blighty, Coulson was Osbourne's pick. I don't think it's a big enough deal to make Cameron resign - we are a long way from a GE and this is a timewasting sideshow.

Even after all this noise, his approval rating is still 8-9 points over Millipede, who has only managed to scrape up to 26% (ish - that's from memory).

It will take him being personally implicated in a proper scandal to oust him before term, and Coulson just doesn't cut it.

Cameron can resign without an election being called: the coalition simply appoints a new leader, HMQEII accepts Cameron's resignation and then asks the new pop pick to form a Government.

Ken Clarke has been mooted by some

Were that to happen, I think there might be a bit of a credibility issue thrown up by the opposition.

As for Clarke, he's got a brilliant mind but I'm not convinced by his leadership skills. But then, I've never met the man.
