Depends on what you are interviewing for, but I guess they are looking to find out who you think your peers are.

well the kind of roles im contracting for are content editor/publisher roles.
I was thinking if there was a more generic answer to this question, how would I go about preparing for it?

I often ask that one when I'm interviewing - not really looking for a 'correct' answer - it's more to start with a question that the interviewee can answer and a bit of an ice breaker. FWIW, nearly everyone says google!
