    Yank bank?

The closest thing I've seen to that are prayer rooms/chapels in airports on the way to and from clients.

I can never get to bed early, anything before midnight and I just can't sleep and end up with less actual sleep than if I had just waited till I felt properly tired.
The only exception is if I'm either ill, drunk or so tired I can't think straight.

Nope, I try my best to avoid yank banks.

I used to do the 4 am Monday morning commute thing and by knocking off time all I wanted to do was kip. I found a nearby hotel that would let me book in at midday, so could get snatch a quick half hour's worth of rest. Not proper sleep, but half dozing and that did the trick.

I also learnt to kick the cat out early on a Sunday and not let it back in again until I was ready for bed. Otherwise it would stay out too late and then wake me with its demands to be let in.

You need to learn how to relax and chill a bit more Spacecadet. Time was, I used to get a bit stressed about all things work, but gradually I forced myself to ignore all the politics and grief. Now I am so laid back, I'd make a stoned Irish Hippy look like a Bavarian Punctuality Inspector.

                Can't believe nobody's mentioned

painting a pair of realistic looking eyes on your eyelids / glasses and then sleeping in meetings.

Everything I learned about life, I learned from Homer Simpson, basically.

I am chilled out and have never given a monkeys arse for office politics (one of the reasons for contracting).... I'm just more of a night person, I can feel tired all day and then when it gets to 11pm suddenly feel wide awake
Only cure I've found is to avoid getting up before 8am

Classic example was Sunday... went to bed early, spent 3 hours thinking of cybernetics and augmented reality and at some point the thinking ceased and I slept

Physical exercise is one way. Jogging / cycling / swimming.

Have you tried cracking one off?

Edit: not in the car at lunchtime, obviously.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'
