I think the rep system is quite fun.

Would be nice to know what you are being repped for even if the person repping didn't leave a comment. Maybe a list of last 10 posts you were repped on, plus the last few comments as now.

The rep awarded is based on the rep level of the person giving it. The higher your personal rep the more rep points are given, or removed, when you rep someone. The lower your rep the less it is worth when you rep others. Get a low enough rep your self and your repping of others becomes wothless. These show up as grey rather than red or green.

That's not correct. Only if you go negative does that apply and it means that your rep is worthless.

Rule of thumb

Negatives = 1 rep per 1000 posts
Positives = 2 rep points per 1000 posts

Length of joining is important, there is a slight multiple on the join date of the poster, plus <1000 points are rounded up and only provide rep points after a decent join period (few months).

If you notice a rep come in which seems a little stupid and you notice it quickly you only have to look at the user online console Who's Online - Contractor UK Bulletin Board to see who is in what thread or doing what(ie. adding reputation).
