There's daily flights to the US from Edinburgh and most of Europe, it's small, easy to get too, I can be on a flight 45 minutes after arriving at the airport.
Daily? There's HOURLY flights to the US from Heathrow & Gatwick.

Of course Heathrow is a world class HUB. It's a tulip airport, but for sheer volume of traffic & destinations I think it's unbeatable.

That will be all the Norwegians nicking your fish then.
Point 1, No, we'd probably rent it back to you.

Point 2, That's where we employ all the drunks and drugged up bams from Central Scotland to 'negotiate' with the Norwegians. I'm sure the 'C U Jimmy' negotiation team would gain us a favourable outcome. At least, they'll make you an offer you can't understand.

Point 1 & point 2 - Nuclear weapons within easy reach of people who think "C U Jimmy" is a negotiation tactic? Not bloomin likely!

That's why Faslane has big fences and armed guards

Most of the CU Jimmy brigade from central Scotland have no idea where or what Faslane is. If they don't pass it on the way to the off licence, then it doesn't exist. Anyway, they'll all be in a big boat or their way to kick **** out of some Norwegians.

And the benefits the UK as a whole how exactly? It's good for London but no one else. If I'm flying long haul I hop over to Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Paris, usually cheaper too with the extra taxes.

                It's complicated isn't it?

Which makes me think Salmond would be out of his depth.

A question... why is the decision to go independent only Scotland's? Surely England are heavily involved in the current arrangement so does that mean England can force Scotland to become independent?
And can Scotland legally choose independence, or can they only request it, a formality which England would have to agree too - like how much of English politics is about tradition and informal rules?
