"Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny. "
Thomas Jefferson -
I agree Scooter, I very much doubt all SNP voters are for independence and I expect some voters for other parties would be pro, but they don't like the SNP. Taking election results even as a rough guide would probably be miles off.
Long term prosperity (or planning for that matter) seems to have been far from the main agenda of any UK government for decades irrespective of colour.Comment

I think the vote for SNP was a vote for independence. I think it makes sense, clearly the English will be glad to see the back of us and likewise.Comment

I thought you'd gone for the weekend, apparently you lied.Originally posted by russell View PostI think the vote for SNP was a vote for independence. I think it makes sense, clearly the English will be glad to see the back of us and likewise.
Personally I'd be sad to see Scotland leave the Union, but that's a matter for a referendum of the Scottish population.
However I'd feel no sadness if you sod off and stop trolling.Comment

London's become too successful and powerful, compared to most of the country. It's noticeable that at a time of cuts, the CrossRail and the high speed rail link to Brum have been financially approved - indeed the CrossRail project is already going ahead.Originally posted by scooterscot View PostI don't think the same amount that voted today for SNP. Union or no union I want to see the country prosper with the long term in mind. I'm not sure that has happened as long as I've been alive. Furthermore I might say the same for the UK in general. London serves London well but craps on the rest of the UK.
Maybe the real issue should be independence for London (or the South-East)?Speaking gibberish on internet talkboards since last Michaelmas. Plus here on TwitterComment

Always have to make a personal insult, tsk tsk. I am going to rise above it and only talk about the topic at hand. Hope you can do the same.Originally posted by TykeMerc View PostI thought you'd gone for the weekend, apparently you lied.

I think you'll find it's not the 'Jocks' who are the parasites.Originally posted by Flashman View PostI'm English and I'd vote for Scottish independence in a heartbeart.
Think about it.
1. You'd get rid of a load of parasitic, violent drunks.

As an aside, with Scottish GDP out of the equation, which direction do you think the parasites head in?
I do believe you end up around Greece.
You're not the sharpest tool in the box are you?Originally posted by Flashman View Post2. Take away the Scottish votes and the Labour party would never form the Government in England ever again!
BBC News - Scottish Election: Labour crashes in Scottish heartland"I hope Celtic realise that, if their team is good enough, they will win. If they're not good enough, they'll not win - and they can't look at anybody else, whether it is referees or any other influence." - Walter Smith

Salmond for President!
I havent met a single scot who doesnt have a railway sleeper on each shoulder.. Example, one of my mates married a scots woman. She brainwashed him about how terrible the 'ingleesh' really are.
Do you know the 'ingleesh' show scotland as smaller in size than it should be on today's maps? Seriously! How ******* deluded are some scots people?
I'd welcome the chance to kick scotland out of the UK or, have an independent England. Oh, and north sea oil is all theirs too!
Funny how the scots are always the first to mention a certain footbal match in July 66?I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

The issues that will need to be faced are while oil and whisky are high value industries they provide next to fook all in real terms of jobs.
Think of all the civil servants in Scotland (and there are a lot). If Scotland was to gain independence the HMRC office in Cumbernauld, the Army Pay center, Faslane etc etc I'd expect 5/6ths of those jobs to be redeployed to England and Wales.
So if North sea oil and gas are so attractive an whisky is such a big thing why the fook is evey one in Scotland out of work?Comment
