Extraordinary events do call for extraordinary measures, and I'm no fan of police abusing power. Yesterday these measures wouldn't have been acceptable. Tomorrow it wouldn't be acceptable. Today was different: there were children, and families, and innocents to protect in a heightened situation with known protagonists in the crowd. To believe everyone is safe enough to enjoy unbridled 'freedom' each and every day is just plain stupid, or rather, publicity-seeking.Oh, I’m sorry….I seem to be lost. I was looking for the sane side of town. I’d ask you for directions, but I have a feeling you’ve never been there and I’d be wasting my time.Comment
