Why is it that I end up spending money on my house just as I'm contemplating moving out of the country and renting it out.

Need to spruce up the kitchen as well and am getting the interior and exterior painted.

Don't spend too much money, you will end up doing it all again when you come back.

getting a cheap kitchen, and just sprucing the place up, kind of had to paint the exterior as the paint had started to peel after the frosts. Had to replace the sofits and guttering etc... as the wood was b*ggered.

Mostly maintenance.
