If you don't normally have any use for an MP3 player, PDA (for calendar), camera, video recorder, laptop for web browsing or GPS, then it's understandable that you won't get much additional value from your smartphone beyond the phone itself and maybe an alarm clock. If you do use even one of the above devices then you can get rid of it and you're already better off.

Apps are another matter. Some people use them a lot. Facebook, Twitter, TV guides, newspapers and magazines, games, timetables, restaurant and hotel guides, music composing apps, Flickr, use your phone as a torch etc. There was a bit of a buzz about Color recently, where you take photos and other people around can see them and you can see their photos. There's loads like that. Mostly pointless, but good for passing time.

The most impressive app I've seen yet is the Android Google Sky Maps app, which allows you to point your phone at the sky and see the names of the stars, planets, constellations etc.

Surely there were cheaper contracts that came with a less advanced phone. Why not google it on your phone?
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

      I preferred version 1!

Kewl. I'm not paying $0.99 for it though.

What about if it could beam you up though? Would you pay $0.99 then?

I'd pay $9.99 for that. As long as I rematerialized in the right place, otherwise it would just be a gimmick.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

Aye but that's the Transporter, nothing to do with the Communicator itself. I want one of them Tricorders that cure people just like that.

                Wrong contract?

I specifically went for an El Cheapo model last time around, mainly because decent internet plans were scarce at the time, but the photo quality wasn't too hot either. It was actually quite hard finding a model that didn't come with a load of stuff I didn't want.
