I had to get an Android phone to test out an app I am releasing shortly. Had a look through the available apps and the only things that looks remotely useful are the maps and gps stuff.

PS Probably stick with my cheap little Samsung for making calls, smaller and easier.

I have a German-English dictionary on mine, which is the smartest thing I've ever used it for.

I do sometimes use it to browse the internet when sitting in the pub, and have it set up to check my email, but I'm not usually far enough away from proper internet access for long enough to make it worth it.

GPS and Google Maps has come in handy a couple of times.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Web mail is blocked here, so for me my phone if the only way to monitor my mail during the day.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

        I preferred version 1!

I use mine mostly for internet on the move e.g news, sport, webmail, settling pub arguments, maps, and also scrabble & sms. And springpad. And occasionally checking when the next tram / bus is going to come before I leave the office.

It was actually when I started at current client co. the first time that I bought my current phone so I could get my email during the day, and then discovered I couldn't get a phone signal anywhere in the office. Doh!
