I managed to watch about 10 minutes of it last time it was on. God it was awful. I always liked Abba, but great as those songs were it was Freeda and Angeneta's warbling that made them work. Pearce Brosnan and Meryl Streep really don't compare.

Tonight I've watched "I'm a cyborg, but that's okay". That was wierd.

If you want a seriously weird film, look for La Cabina (The Telephone Box), a Spanish film from 1972.

I've never found an official release; it was shown late at night on BBC 2 a couple of times in the Eighties. The IMDB entry is so trivial that I can't even be bothered to paste the link. I found a torrent of a VHS rip a few years ago, and have since found a torrent of a slightly better quality VHS rip.

IIRC, they both lack English subtitles. In my experience, you don't need subtitles - even though I know no Spanish, I find one doesn't need to know the language to understand all the incidents, and even the meaning of every line of dialog, although admittedly I did see it with subtitles twenty-odd years ago

Whichever quality copy you get, it's a total head**** (in a good way). Only about 35 minutes long, but you'll bear it in mind for the rest of your life

That rings a bell. Either I saw it a long time ago or you have mentioned it before.

Another Spanish film, Time Crimes, was really good. Not weird as such, but did my head in working out the possibilities. This version I saw had English subtitles, but that didn't detract from the enjoyment.

Very cool. So cool that Hollywood is remaking Timecrimes for release in 2011.
Let's hope they don't mess it up...

Sounds intriguing - Any chance of posting a Torrent link, or even uploading the file to a web site from where we can snaffle a copy?

I started watching Barbarossa (2009); but I gave up after ten minutes because of the dubbing, which just made the dialogue sound depressingly flat, and the actors wooden.

It would have been much better to at least have the option of playing with the original speech, even if a mixture of languages, and show subtitles.

Pixies fans would have heard of this one...

                    La Cabina:

                    La.Cabina.(1972).FS.TVRip.DivX5.avi

I thought it translated as "the coffin", but I don't know any Spanish.
