You have to draw the line somewhere. If I had broadened the scope to include alcohol and nicotine then someone would be asking about caffeine, paracetamol, ibuprofen, cough mixture, immodium, viagra and so on.

Perhaps we need an are you teetotal / smoke free thread?

Never smoked.

Gone on a low calorie and not had a drink for 36 hours.

I gave up smoking about 7 or 8 years ago. I've cut down drinking a lot, primarily because I'm starting to realise I will die otherwise.

Drink and smoke cigars, would rather have that and peg it at 70 than run the risk of spending my last years in a care home wearing a nappy.

Having put a "Never smoked" option, I was just preparing myself for the "what's the difference between smoke free and never smoked?" pedantry.
