You might have something there. Perhaps we should do some "day trips" next time I'm back in the UK.While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.' -

1) How has the debt been accrued and are you paying interest on it? If it's question of spiralling APR then a couple of 18 months -% cards with a balance transfer will sort that out.Originally posted by doodab View PostAny tips on persuading a woman to wake up, smell the coffee and do what is good for them & the family rather than living in cloud ******* cuckoo land will be gratefully received. Failing that, any tips on getting rid of 20k of unsecured debt would be handy.
Basically the mother of my child doesn't want to move to Germany. Running two houses means my outgoings are greater than my income, so although I have a perfectly good contract it looks like I am going to have to kick that into touch and return to the UK for a tulip rate that still won't cover my outgoings.
I am currently threatening her with life in a crappy provincial town in the hope she will see sense.
2) The two house thing. Do you own or are you renting? No point renting two places. Can she move home to mother?
3) Does she work? If not, then it's tough shit: she needs to follow you or get a job.
4) Fake the bailiffs. Always a good way to get the other half to see sense when someone comes around and threatens to take your TV and break your legs (fake it though

Do you really think that is enough?Originally posted by doodab View PostOnce a month or so.
Do you need to run two houses, can you not do the weekly commute thing? And rent a room or something over there? I dunno if thats possible.
However, you need to show her the figures, sit her down and show that things just don't add up and that ye need to do whats best for you as a family.
You said earlier you like your son. Do you like her though? If not, you are flogging a dead horse and need to get your tulip together. If you do love her & want it to work, be honest and explain everything to her. You might be suprised at how she reacts.Bazza gets caught

Most of it is at 0% until early next year, there is a couple of k left on a loan that could be moved onto one of the cards, the problem is what happens when the 0% deal runs out as I've already got every card going so applying for another is a bit of a problem.Originally posted by MarillionFan View Post1) How has the debt been accrued and are you paying interest on it? Two lots of rent. That is the crux of the matter.Originally posted by MarillionFan View Post2) The two house thing. Do you own or are you renting? No point renting two places. Can she move home to mother?
When childcare is factored in she won't earn enough to make it worthwhile. She does have an income from letting out a couple of flats.Originally posted by MarillionFan View Post3) Does she work? If not, then it's tough tulip she needs to follow you or get a job.
Hmm, another good idea.Originally posted by MarillionFan View Post4) Fake the bailiffs. Always a good way to get the other half to see sense when someone comes around and threatens to take your TV and break your legs (fake it though
