Is the Corruption of Islam the New Nazism

I am also reading the Koran at the same time and its interesting so see how the corruption of the idea of the Koran and Mein Kampf have so many similarities.

Eg. Get them young, get them to believe in Nationalism or an idea, make them fanatic, hate the Jews, hate Democracy, all others are wrong, Islam = Aryans.

It makes you begin to think there is only one way islam and the world is going.
What happens in General, stays in General.
You know what they say about assumptions!

perfumer by patrick suskind is extremely good and I'm currently reading Mao's Last Dancer if you want to stick with the autobiographical stuff
I think those titles might reside under the bed on my wife's side. She is an avid reader, but a sloven when it comes to under-bed maintenance.

Perhaps I will don a dust mask and investigate.

Hitler would fit in well with the current English government. He had the ability, skill and will to make a very real difference but in the end fecked it up completely!

not sure if perfumer would be classified as "chick reading" before people disregard it! it might do I guess but it is about a mass murder I promise so there's stuff in there for you blokies! and there's no "love stuff" either... at least not in your usual form!!!

only about a 1/3 through mao's last dancer but interesting so far... intersting look at mao's communist china albeit from a child's point of view so far in the book

People are becoming more and more risk-averse to the point that innovation, adventure and discovery are becoming foreign concepts.

These are the very ideas that propelled the human race to where it is.

Now all we want to do is sit around and live a slob lifestyle supported by junk media and 24x7 entertainment.

Going back to the original point of this thread, Hitler wouldn't have stood a chance in motivating the present German populace to get off their backsides - so maybe it's a good thing - doesn't feel like it though.

Having fomerly lived in the Reich I was suprised during my research into the period of the Nazi rise to power that the inital reaction of the Germans was that of laughter as Hitler appeared to be almost like a clown like figure.

On reflection perhaps there are some parallels to Bush there.

However many German women voters nursed fantasies of Hitler, one reason why the Nazi party was always keen to protray him as being an available batchelor.

Mein Kampf is a fascinating book, my Grandfather had the first edition to be printed in the UK, I would like to reread it as its been almost thirty years.

Do remember that Adolph was also a cocaine and later meth addict, altough I am unsure whether his Soma intake was limited when he was in jail.
If you have done no wrong then you have nothing to fear ...perhaps.

I'm not so sure. All the really great[1] leaders we have seen in history have had one thing in common, the understood people, how to motivate them and more importantly, what they are afraid of.

Not withstanding his later actions, Hitler understood these things. If another leader of the same ability and understanding of the populous appeared today I dont think they would have too much trouble.

The same can be said for Saddam Hussain, Papa Doc Duvalier, Robert Mugabe, Kim Il Yung etc. They may not be wonderfull human beings, but they understood power, how to get it and how to hang onto it.

[1] Great, as in good at what they did, not Great as in the kind of bloke you'd go down the pub for a pint with.

I think Islam is an utterly hateful religion.

I'm and atheist and think all religeons are harmful to a large extend but Islam is a creed of pure hate and intolerence.

Islam makes it a virtue to kill (as cruelly as possible) others who don't share you conviction or opinions.

How, in the 21st Century can we put up with this sub-medieval attitude to one's fellows and life in general?

                Islam saddens and disgusts me.

I read it years ago. I didn't find it particularly well written at all.
